1st Baby , 1st grade

Makayla started 1st grade yesterday, to me it is the weirdest thing to think about. Kindergarten was a breeze for me, I guess knowing that I would get her back in a couple of hours was alright. But full days, I still am questioning myself about it. I guess one of these days I'm going to have to get used to it from here on out goodbye half days hello to all day. I think the hardest thing is going to be that she won't be around to help me watch Dakota and trust me her help is truly needed. Maybe I'll just have to pass it down to Kassi even though Kassi doesn't watch her as good but now is a good time to train her. Right?
Well I guess you could say that the day went pretty well yesterday for Makayla anyways for me I worried if she would make it to the bus and find her friends. She wanted me to pick her up but I told her no now is the time to start learning where to go plus she will have her friends to ride with so she finally said, okay mom.

Makayla was so excited the night before school started but as soon as we enter the classroom she got really nervous and didn't even want to go find her seat. But we soon made it there with a little push. I think what made her the most nervous was not knowing any of the kids in the room. But that's what's so nice about Elementary School you make friends easy.
When she arrived home later on yesterday I asked her how her day went and she said it was good. That's about what you get out of her. But then all of a sudden she was like "mom guess what I started crying after you left and school had started for the day." I asked her "Why?" She said that she already started missing me. I thought that weird last year in Kindergarten she was like you can go now, mom I'm fine. This year was completely opposite. That was definately unexpected. But as we were getting her ready for school she was so excited to walk to the bus and go today without me standing right by her side, so I'm proud of my little 1st grader and I hope she learns to love school and make friends like crazy.

It what FUN is...... Lagoon

Clint and I got a discount pass from his dad and decided that we needed to take the two oldest girls to Lagoon since they had never been. We new this would be are last chance since summer was coming to the end and school is about to begin. We always pass Lagoon on the freeway and the girls always yell out, "Look mom and dad there's a carnival going on can we go, can we go, pleeeeaaaase! Little do they realize that Lagoon is there all the time. I guess you could say that they figured it out now.

Kassidee and Clint

Me and Kassidee
The girls loved this ride. They like the feeling you get when you
completely lose your stomach and that's what it actually did.

I guess you could say dazed and confused.
Makayla is tall enough to ride on the big ride poor Kassidee wanted to so bad but was not able to because of her height. (maybe next year, hopefully.) Me and Makayla rode the spider together and I guess when Clint was waiting a guy asked him who he was waiting for, Clint's reply was "oh, my wife and my six year old daughter". The guys reply was what? I'm an adult and I sometimes feel like I don't want to do this ride. Clint just started laughing. Clint and I are so proud of are little girls they are pretty brave we say a lot of little kids bigger then them start to cry and not even want to try the rides.
The best part about that day was seeing there smile on there faces and the screams coming from there mouth's. After we started driving Makayla said mom where is that screaming coming from, can you here it. Clint and I just started laughing and said sweetheart it's probably from you screaming all day. What a great day! HUH!

Trip to Pinedale

About a month ago Justin (my brother) asked me if I wanted to go to Pinedale this year and go camping. Of Course, I told him that I would love to go. Growing up as a kid we would go there every year because my GREAT Grandma Wright had a cabin there but eventually my parents bought a place over there so we went quite often rain or shine. But a few years ago my parents sold there place there and bought a place in West Yellowstone where they live now. I love West Yellowstone but the memories that I have of Pinedale will always hold a special place in my heart.

As we were driving there we past these mountain that I alway remember as a kid saying " Those have got to be one of the coolest mountains". Don't get me wrong I love the Utah mountain's but the color of these ones always catch my eyes.

We got camp set up and then the girls could not resist the beach and the water, they headed down there. We had the beach right by our campsite so it was so nice for the kids to be able to just walk down and play in the water.
The first thing that Dakota did was grab the stick and started playing with it. The girls were not sure if they wanted to get in the water but later on they decided too.
You see this water is not the warmest water ever. It's like taking an ice cube and running it down the middle of your back. So the best thing to do is just run and get in and then scream a little for the shock of it all and then just start kicking to keep your body warm. But for me I don't know if it gets any warmer. The longer I stay in the more I shake.

Makayla at the Beach.

Kassidee

Here is Jared's (my brother) Sawyer. I tell you one thing this kid has no fear. He loved laying in this water. I have never seen such a little kid love the water like he does. We were at the dock's the first day and he just started walking and walking into the water like it was no big deal. He is so cute!
We found him one time in the road flagging down the cars and telling them to stop. I guess the people he was flagging down were just kinda laughing.

Makayla, Levi (jared's), Katelyn (amy's)

Here is Kayla watching the baby's.
Piper (her's) Dakota
I guess you could say that Dakota's not my baby anymore but she is to me 'cause she's my last little one.

Kassidee playin' at the beach.

Dakota not liking Grandma Becky to much.

Yes these is me about to get thrown in by Clint. As you can see I was hopeless in this department. It doesn't help when your husband is twice the size as you. But he was nice a enough to not throw me in all the way. Man that water is seriously cold. Men only have one part on the body to worry about us women have the bad end of the deal.

Grandpa James and Grandma Becky took all the kids out fishing for a little while.
Here is Kassidee. I guess you could say washing off in the lake didn't help to much 'cause they would just end up all dirty again.

Megan and Justin
Thanks to there tradition of going there every year!
I know we will have to plan on the next year trip, too.

Josh and Kayla

Kylie and Cody
The trip was amazing Clint on the way home said he had a blast up there. We were glad to have water that close to us for the kids to play in, the kids at heart Justin, Clint, Jared, Josh, and Cody of course

Friend Party

We decided to try out the whole friend party this year for Makayla's 6th Birthday today. I thought that it went pretty well. The kids started off by jumping into the pool and being crazy maniac's.
Then we continued on the rest of the day playing a few games. We were up to trying anything this first year to see what the kids enjoyed the most. Here is one:
This is Sydney trying to hold a balloon full of water between her legs and making it around a bucket and back again. This one didn't last that long cause the kids gave up fast. The balloons kept popping. It was pretty funny to watch the kids try to walk or waddle I should say.

This was the line up.

Here is Brynlee playing Don't drop the Egg. Brynlee was actually pretty good at this game she managed to run the fastest on this game.

Makayla

Lauren running down to the other bucket to try to fill it with water. There team managed to win this game twice with one less player to play with.

Makayla empting the sponge full of water and boyed did she managed to get every ounce of water out of her sponge. If the game was to play it that way she would have one the award for that.

Line up again!

On your mark get set........... Go!
This is when they were all lining up for who had the best jump into the pool.
Lauren of course did the best, she has a little bit longer legs for that one.
Pizza was what was for lunch and of course that didn't last long and they were off to the water.
The party started at 12:00 and ended up lasting 'til around 6:30 that night but I was good with that, Makayla seemed like she was enjoying the company and I'm sure she won't forget this Birthday Bash.
Happy Birthday Makayla!
We love you and hope you enjoyed your wonderful day!

Birthday w/ Grandpa's and Grandma's

Makayla's birthday is today and she turned 6, so yesterday we invited the Grandma's and Grandpa's over and we were lucky this year that almost all the grandparent's made it. We had a little dinner, grilled up some hamburger's and for Makayla's cake we decided cheesecake this year. Everyone's got to love cheesecake. Right?

BRAKES! BRAKES!

Well this week I have been starting to run about three miles and I take the kids when ever I go. But today Clint got the opportunity to go with us. There's a trail right by our house so we headed out and end almost at the end of the track where we turn around and there's a big hill that you go down. Well Kassidee is trying out a bigger bike because the other one was getting to small for her. (keep in mind that it still has training wheels and that it has pretty good balance at least we thought.) We kept yelling at her to use those brakes of hers but I guess watching her older sister cruise down the hill she thought she could do it. Me and Clint were a little bit behind them so we really didn't get a good look at the fall but we new just watching her cruise down the hill it wasn't going to be good. I heard the screaming thinking that it was a normal cry not anything to serious but when I got down there her arm was already starting to swell and I told Clint I think she might of broke or sprained but he said it was fine she's not screaming like she broke it. Okay, whatever you think?

Well obviously she did something, tonight we took her to the Doctor's and found out that she had a Green Line Fracture. I would have to admit she was one tough girl when it came down to having pain in her arm all day. She has to wear this bandage for a week and then we go back to the Doctor's for the Cast.

Fishy, Fishy in the Brook

You should know us by now and if you don't then you should know that this is what we do every summer. You know, pack up the fishing gear and head to the nearest lake. Clint came home from work on Monday and asked me if I wanted to go fishing on Thursday and I said sure. But we had a little problem with the Thursday plan Gayle was not able to go with us then so we moved the fishing trip up to Tuesday. You see we never miss a fishing trip without taking the Father-in-law. That man just loves fishing as much as Clint and I that he always is asking when were going to go and when are we going to rent a fishing boat. The answer is always soon of course. Especially when the sun is shinning. Yesterday was the most perfect day not to hot and not cold just right but I can't say the same about the fishing. You see usually me and Clint sing this song and we always usually bring in the fish but this time it didn't work so well. We only managed to catch 2 and had lots a bites but as soon as they would bite once they were done with the whole hook in the mouth. Dag those stubborn fish! Don't they know better? Ha Ha.
Well I had to catch a picture of me and my hubby together. I know that he hates picture's but without the picture's then where would the memories be. I love being able to spend this time with Clint and the girls. It's always the best to see Clint help the girls reel in a fish and see there face when there done reeling. It always reminds me when I was a little girl and my dad always helping me bait my hook and being there with me when we were fishing. Got to love the memories that we are continuing to make with our family.
Yes, this is the first fish of the day and as you can see Clint is not to thrilled to be holding it. Man what a massive fish. Oh did I say massive I mean cute little fish.

Then there was Dakota yesterday, still didn't care what we were doing off in her own little world. Adventure, should be her middle name. Climbing, trying to see what was in the water, and found out if you say there are fish in the water she starts to cry. It was pretty funny her sisters said
fish and Dakota started to cry. It was pretty funny.

Kassidee and Clint
These two look so much a like.
Twins I always say.

Gayle and Kassidee
Gayle had a fish on but he ended up losing it. Kassi was waiting to reel it in.

Clint and Makayla
She managed to reel in the first fish.

Dakota
Not really into the whole fishing thing but dirt was good.

These two manage to do everything together. Which is so cool to see and I have to admit this is what I have always wanted. You see me and my sister Julie have been best friends for a very long time and I hope that this is how Makayla and Kassidee will always be like. There's no one better then a best friend to talk to. They managed to find empty power bait jars and filled them with rocks and then who knows what they did with them.

The fishing trip was nice. I was glad to get out of the house and to the lake. Nothing beats being able to be with your family and fishing at the same time. Even if we walked away with just a few fish maybe we will have better luck the next time.
